The NUJ is demanding an apology from the EFCC within seventy-two hours otherwise it would take legal action against the anti-graft agency.
The raid on Sun Newspaper head office is in connection to a case involving the publisher and former Governor of Abia State, ORJI UZOR KALU.
The Chairman of the Lagos State council of NUJ, DEJI ELUMOYE, noted in a statement that the EFCC acted in a barbaric manner in sealing up the newspaper house.
ELUMOYE said the NUJ wondered why EFCC would ransack the premises of the media outfit without any search warrant and subject innocent workers to unnecessary harassment and stress.
The NUJ is also claiming that the EFCC infringed on the fundamental human rights of the workers whose movement in and out of the company was curtailed by security operatives for over an hour.
The Lagos NUJ said if The Sun media outfit had erred or had issues with EFCC, the court of law is the proper place to seek redress rather than taking the laws into their hands.
