During the meeting participants drew the attention of the leadership of the agency to various challenges of the agency, stressing the need for best practices in the maritime world.
On his part, the Director-General of NIMASA Doctor DAKUKU PETERSIDE explained the statutory responsibilities of the agency in terms of labour engagements and other operational activities.
PETERSIDE also stated that the agency is set to address the recurrent problem of short supply of labour in the maritime sector as compared to its counterparts in the world.
The DG also assured Nigerians of diversification beginning with the maritime sector especially in the area of employment generation which will lead to a turnaround in the economy.
