The Presidential assistant made the advice against the backdrop of a video and pictures circulated online depicting the killing of black immigrants in Libya.
However; ABIKE DABIRI-EREWA noted that while the authenticity of the pictures and tapes in question cannot be verified, it is a known fact that Libya has been executing alleged black illegal immigrants for years.
In a statement obtained by our correspondent; DABIRI-EREWA recalled that while she was the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora in the Seventh Assembly, her team intervened in a case involving twenty-four Nigerians who were about to be killed in Libya.
She said the House Committee, working in collaboration with the Socio-Economic Rights Accountability Project, SERAP, petitioned the United Nations, the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States in a bid to have the Nigerians released.
The Presidential aide also confirmed that the National Emergency Management Agency and the Nigerian Embassy in Libya have worked together to ensure the evacuation of over two thousand Nigerians from Libya as at two months ago.
She noted that Libyans are dealing with their own internal struggles, which has left the country without a generally recognised government in place.
