Latest reports coming from the battle frontline indicate that troops of Twenty-One Brigade from the Seven Division of the Nigerian Army are leading the operations.The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel SANI USMAN said troops have cleared the four villages of BalaKarege, Goske, Harda and Markas, that once served as terrorists enclaves.Colonel USMAN said during the operations on Sunday, the troops ran into an ambush at Harda village, but managed to clear the terrorists without any casualty.The Army spokesman said items recovered by the troops include suicide vests and some high calibre weapons such as Rocket Propelled Grenade, AK-47 rifle, extra-barrel of General Purpose Machine, AK-47 rifle magazines and several rounds ammunition.
He said the troops also recovered ten vehicles and fifty motorcycles belonging to fleeing Boko Haram terrorists.
