Nigerian senate orders investigation of IGP

IGP IDRIS is accused of collecting billions of naira from private companies for the deployment of police security, among other allegations.
The matter came to a head yesterday when Senator MISAU addressed the chamber in plenary, also accusing the IGP of romantic involvement with female police officers.
In his ruling; the Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI mandated the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges to investigate an aspects of the allegations concerning Senator MISAU.
Senator SARAKI also constituted an ad hoc committee headed by the Deputy Chief Whip to investigate the financial aspects of the allegations against the IGP.
