Nigerian Army troops deployed in the North-East operations against the Boko Haram terrorist group have been decorated with their new ranks

The three thousand, seven hundred and twenty-nine Special Promotions were approved by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General TUKUR BURATAI.
The troops were subsequently decorated by their various commanders in Bama, Chibok, Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Konduga and Maiduguri.
The Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General TEXAS CHUKWU described the ceremonies at the various formations as moments of joy for troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, under Seven Division of the Nigerian Army.
Brigadier General CHUKWU said the beneficiaries actively participated in Operation DEEP PUNCH Two, which entailed the clearance of Boko Haram enclaves in the Sambisa Forest.
A statement released by the Army spokesman quoted the General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Major General IBRAHIM MANU YUSUF informing soldiers at the Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri that the gesture was in recognition of their valour and commitment to duty.
