Our correspondent who monitored the flag-off reports that the ceremony featured free medical outreach in its first day in Rumuokoro in Obio-Akpor and Ogu-Bolo Local Government Areas of Rivers state.

General Officer Commanding Six Division of the Nigeria Army, Major General JAMIL SARHAM in his remark said the operation is part of efforts of the Nigeria Army in collaboration with other security agencies to calm prevailing threats of insecurity on land and waterways in their areas of coverage.  

Major General SARHAM assured that the operation was not in any way intended to molest, inconvenienced lawful citizens of the region but to help fight all prevailing security challenges in the area including, vandalism, kidnapping, criminality and cultism. 

The Army Chief in Rivers State pleaded with members of the public to assist the Army and other security operatives who are part of the operation to achieve it’s desired arm just as he pledge the operation commitment to be professional in discharge of responsibility. 

Correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that representatives of Ogu-Bolo and Obio-Akpor Local Government areas appealed to members of their communities to co-operate with the military during the period of the exercise.
