Military Defends Airstrikes in Niger State Amid Civilian Concerns

The Nigerian military has clarified that recent air operations in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State targeted bandits and not civilians.

In a statement, the Defence Headquarters said the operation was based on intelligence indicating bandit activity in Lukupe Village on May 9.

It explained that coordinated airstrikes were carried out on identified locations including Katerma, Bokko, Kusasu, and Kuduru villages, as part of ongoing counter-banditry operations.
