The Nigerian Army said the callous and unpatriotic rumours, which should be highly condemned by all well-meaning Nigerians, are intended to cause pandemonium among the general public.
The Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel AMINU LLYISU, confirmed in a statement that the Six Division intends to undertake free medical outreach, sanitation exercises and distribution of educational materials to schools in host communities as part of its community relations activities under Operation Crocodile Smile Two.
However, Colonel ILLYASU said the community relations activities were yet to be conducted, and would eventually be done with the consent of authorities of designated communities and at venues and dates that would be communicated to the general public.
Colonel ILLYASU said the Nigerian Army does not and will never carry out its medical outreach or vaccination exercises in schools.
Therefore; the Army spokesman said the claims about army personnel in camouflage going round schools to forcefully immunize children are not true and should be disregarded.
Members of the public are also enjoined to report any case of impostors who may be going around in army uniform to commit such atrocities.
