Some Twenty Thousand Youths in Rivers State Earmarked for Agricultural Loans

This was made known by the Secretary to the State Government, Sir KENNETH KOBANI during a food exhibition in Port Harcourt.
KOBANI said the government is targeting youths of between eighteen and thirty-five years for agricultural loans through the Central Bank of Nigeria.
On their part; the Commissioners of Agriculture, CHARLES NWORGU and Housing CHINEDU TASIE informed the people that the state government was partnering with international organizations to empower local farmers to sustain the food production of farmers.
Our correspondent ELFREDA ALERECHI reports that farmers from different parts of Rivers State came together at the event in Port Harcourt to showcase their produce as part of events for this year’s World Food Day.
Some of the farmers who spoke to our correspondent at Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt complained about numerous problems and called for the support of government to ensure increased food production.
