Nigerian Army intercepts two gun trucks of Boko Haram terrorists following an ambush at Goneri town in Borno State

The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel SANI USMAN said the troops of the 118 Task Force Battalion of 7 Brigade acted based on reliable information about movement of remnants of suspected Boko Haram terrorists.

Colonel USMAN said an unconfirmed number of the terrorists escaped with gunshot wounds, and abandoned one Buffalo Land Cruiser gun truck mounted with an Anti-Aircraft gun with one thousand, six hundred rounds of Armour Piercing Incendiary ammunitions.

Other recovered items also include five hundred and sixty-three rounds of NATO ammunition for General Purpose Machine Guns and fifty-seven rounds of Special ammunition.
