Nigeria immigration launches E-passport in Port Harcourt

Comptroller-General of the NIS, MUHAMMED BABANDED who said this at the launching ceremony in Port Harcourt, stated that the essence of the e-passport is to improve the issuance of the passport tailored towards global best practices.

 

Represented by the Rivers state comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service, SEGUN ADEGOKE, the NIS Boss announced that the E-passport is valid between five to ten years which will save Nigerians the stress of frequent replacement of the document.

 

Also speaking, the Passport Control officer of the NIS, E.J UMOH said features of the new passport includes new security features, adding that the requirement to obtain the E-passport is the National Identity card.
