The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs is projecting that Nigeria would cross the population threshold by the year 2050, which is about thirty-three years from now.
According to the report, it is expected that Nigeria would overtake the United States, just at the total world population would have reached nine point eight billion people.
The current world population is put at about seven point six billion people.
