However; the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger-Delta, MEND has endorsed the meeting schedule for next week between President MOHAMMADU BUHARI and representatives of the Pan Niger-Delta Forum.
In a statement by MEND spokesman, JOMO GBOMO, the group said it was in support of the Chief EDWIN CLARK-led negotiating team.
MEND said it believes that President BUHARI was sincere in his bid to restore all that has been taken from the region.
But in a separate statement; the Niger-Delta Greenland Justice Mandate expressed lack of confidence on the Chief EDWIN CLARK-led team, stressing that he lacked both the moral right and trust to speak for the region.
The group also warned the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation not to reopen the Trans-Forcados pipeline in Burutu Local government area of Delta state.
The position of the group was made in a statement by its spokesman, ALDO AGBALAJA.
