This comes after the Arewa youths Coalition threatened to protests against the decision of the federal government to award security and Surveillance contract to a Niger Delta Ex-agitator, Government Ekpemupolo popularly called Tompolo.
But the Amalgamated Leaders of Niger Delta group, in a statement described the federal government action as a step in right direction knowing that Tompolo will bring the activities of oil bunkery to the nearest minimum.
The Amalgamated Leaders of Niger Delta group in the statement jointly signed by the President, Festus Ederekumor, the Secretary, Obianga Iyalla, Organization Secretary, Iyke Daniel and Chief Lucky John, resolved to work with Tompolo to ensure the safety of federal government assets.
The group while calling on President Muhammadu Buhari not to adhere to the call of the Arewa group, urged the group to direct their attention towards ensuring that the insecurity that has pervaded the North is reduced.
