Until his appointment, Major General Irefin was the immediate past GOC eighty-one Division of the Nigerian Army, Lagos.
Major General Irefin takes over from the former GOC, Major General Felix Agugo who was posted to Lagos as the Corps Commander Signals of the Nigerian Army.
