NDLEA spokesman,Femi Babafemi in a statement said no fewer than eleven members of the trafficking syndicates have been arrested in connection to the seizures.
Among those arrested in connection to seizures at the two airports is Ofor Chileobi who had on Friday 20th May attempted to export to Dubai, two hundred blocks of cannabis sativa weighing thirty point two-zero kilogrames concealed in forty sacks of bitter leaf through a cargo wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The statement said on the same day, ten cartons of khat with a gross weight of three hundred and fifty four point six zero-zero-zero kilogrammes were also seized at the NAHCO import shed of the airport.
Beside the eleven suspects, Babafemi said a 35-year-old physically challenged lady, Kasarachi Onumajuru who hides under her condition to deal on drugs in Umudumaonu community, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state was also arrested on Sunday 29th May.
Meanwhile; Chairman and Chief Executive of NDLEA, Buba Marwa has commended the officers and men of the agency for sustaining the heat on drug cartels.
