NDLEA said Chukwuemeka was arrested on Tuesday during the inward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian Airlines flight 951 from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, following a body scan, which revealed multiple pellets in his stomach.
According to a statement issued by NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the suspect excreted a total of one hundred wraps of cocaine weighing two point one nine five kilograms in four excretions while under observation.
In a similar development, NDLEA operatives said they intercepted a forty five-year-old woman, Bilkisu Bello, at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, while preparing to board a Saudia Airlines flight to Saudi Arabia.
Babafemi stated that Bello confessed during an interview, that pellets of cocaine given to her to swallow before her flight were kept in a house in Farawa area of Kano.
However, on leading to NDLEA officers to the house, fifty two wraps of the illicit substance with a total weight of seven hundred and sixty seven grams were recovered.
