Speaking during a visit by a delegation from Total Energies at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt, the Managing Director of the NDDC, Samuel Ogbuku, reaffirmed the importance of sustainable partnerships in driving the development process.
Ogbuku noted that climate change is real and pleaded with the oil companies to assist by reducing gas flaring and other forms of pollution, stressing the need to protect communities by investing more in clean energy sources.
Speaking earlier, the Executive Director, Joint Venture Assets, Total Energies, Obi Imemba, commended the NDDC for its role in the development of the Niger Delta region, expressing confidence in partnerships as a critical factor in ensuring sustainability.
