NCC Assures Nigerians of Improving Network Quality Amid Service Complaints

By Paul Chimodo

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said that network quality across the country is gradually improving following ongoing investments and regulatory interventions in the telecommunications sector.

The Commission stated this in a recent update published on May 14, 2026, noting that despite continued public complaints over dropped calls, slow internet speeds and unstable data services, efforts by operators and regulators are beginning to yield positive results.

According to the NCC, telecommunications companies have continued to invest heavily in network expansion and modernisation, while regulatory oversight has been intensified to ensure better service delivery to consumers.

The regulator explained that improving Quality of Service remains a key priority, especially as telecom services play a critical role in business, education, healthcare and daily communication across Nigeria.

It added that ongoing upgrades, infrastructure expansion and enforcement actions are expected to further enhance service reliability in the coming months.

The NCC also urged operators to maintain compliance with service standards, stressing that consumers deserve value for money and more stable connectivity nationwide.
