The NBA said it finds it absurd that the Presidency would accept
assurances from the Department of State Security Service that it
followed due process of the law.
NBA President, ABUBAKAR MAHMUD called on President
MUHAMMADU BUHARI to call the security agencies responsible
for the arrest of the judges to order.
MAHMUD made the call while making a speech at a valedictory
court session in honour of a retiring Justice of the Supreme Court.
The NBA President said the actions carried out by DSS against
the judges were illegal and unconstitutional, and also constitutes a
threat to the independence of the judiciary.
