National Industrial court fixes 24th July to hear Emuohua agrrieved workers suit

Solomon Erim and eighteen others who are aggrieved staff of Emohua Local Government Council had filed a suit against Chidi Lloyd and two others, over alleged demotion, downgrading, slashing of their salary and sack.

The aggrieved staff want the order of the court to direct the Emohua council chairman to within seven days of the conclusion of the matter, re-instate them to their employment grade level, release in full their withheld salaries and payment of each of the affected staff the sum of one million naira as damages for the trauma and embarrassment.

Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that when the matter came up in court for mention, counsel to Emohua Council and Chairman, Winston Churhill moved a motion to regularize his process which was not objected by the claimant counsel, and the presiding Judge, Justice Polycarp Hamman adjourned till 24th of July, 2023 for hearing.

Speaking to newsmen outside the courtroom, the claimant counsel, Kingdom Chukwuezie explained that his clients are in court to seek interpretation of the law concerning the action of the defendants against them.
