National Association of Resident Doctors comences strike action

NARD and Federal Government team led by Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, met today in an attempt to persuade the doctors to cancel the strike.

The industrial action by the doctors comes at a time when, President Muhammadu Buhari has left the country for the United Kingdom for routine medical checkup.

President of NARD, doctor Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi, raised concerns over unfulfilled promises by the government to resident doctors in the past years, insisting that due process must be deployed even if the association were to give the government another benefit of the doubt.

Ngige, who presided over the conciliatory meeting which led to the signing of the Memorandum of Action, gave assurances that everything contained in the agreement would be implemented
