The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity in the Office of the Vice President, LAOLU AKANDE, said some two hundred thousand graduates will benefit from the first phase.
AKANDE said thirteen states of the federation have submitted verified lists of the graduates and more are expected to send in additional list later this week.
The Presidential spokesman said the payment would commence this before the year runs out, once verification is completed, as some states have already deployed the graduate beneficiaries to their places of assignment.
Some of the states that have concluded verification and deployment are Benue, Cross Rivers and Kogi, while verification has been done in Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto, Taraba and Zamfara.
LAOLU AKANDE said the Federal Government intends to engage half a million unemployed graduate under the N-Power Volunteer Scheme.
President MUHAMMADU BUHARI had while presenting the 2017 Budget to the National Assembly last week, declared that additional allocation of five hundred billion naira for Social Investment Programmes that covers the N-Power Volunteer Scheme.
