The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor BLESSING DIDIA gave the position of the institution at the public hearing organized by the Rivers State House of Assembly Committee on Education.
Professor DIDIA said changing the name of the institution would have a lot of negative effects, and he advised the State Assembly to amend the law setting up the university to suit the purpose it was established.
The Chairman of the House of Assembly Committee on Education, FARAH DAGOGO who represents Degema Constituency, said the aim of the public hearing was to feel the pulse of members of the public on the Rivers State University of Science and Technology Amendment Bill.
FARAH DAGOGO is the Chairman of the Rivers State House of Assembly Committee on Education.
