The legal watchdog is accusing President TRUMP of violating a constitutional ban on accepting payments from foreign governments.
The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington alleged that TRUMP received payments from foreign governments through guests at his hotels and leases on his buildings.
In the yet-to-be filed lawsuit; the group which is also called CREW for short; argues that a clause in the constitution bans such payments.
But TRUMP’s son ERIC was quoted in a report in which he described the move as harassment for political gain.
ERIC TRUMP said the company had taken greater steps than the law required to avoid legal exposure.
