Prosecution Witness, PATIENCE OVU in her testimony told the court that she recognized the first and second defendants, ANDY CLEMENT and GODFREY HANSON as those that allegedly kidnapped her brother.
PATIENCE OVU, who was cross-examined by the Director of Public Prosecution, IBIKIRI OTORUBIO, disclosed that the accused persons dressed in a Special Anti-Robbery Squad uniform with bullet proof vests and carried AK 47 riffles.
She further disclosed that she realized something disturbing when the alleged kidnappers contradicted themselves that they are from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission while another said they were from the SARS.
Trial Judge, Justice ADOLPHUS ENEBELI adjourned the matter to the 20th and 27th of March to continue with the cross-examination of the prosecution witness by the Defence Counsels.
Six persons including ANDY CLEMENT, GODFREY HANSON, ROWLAND AZUNDAH, CHIMA WOKOMA, OBINNA OKOROAFOR and OGECHI IHUNWO are facing trial for the alleged kidnap and killing of two persons after allegedly receiving fifteen million Naira ransom from the family.
