More reactions continue to trail the judgments delivered by various election tribunals for Rivers State.
The rulings by the tribunals for House of Assembly elections in Rivers have been described as a vindication of the ruling by the Justice SULAIMAN AMBROSA-led panel that nullified the election of Governor NYESOM WIKE.
Port Harcourt-based lawyer, ACHINIKE WILLIAM-WOBODO noted that out of the thirty-one State Constituencies challenged by the APC, nineteen were nullified by various panels on the merit.
WILLIAM-WOBODO also noted that the only seat that was won by the APC Candidate for Eleme State Constituency, which was challenged by the PDP, was upheld by the Election Tribunal.
So far; the state constituency elections that were cancelled by the tribunals include Ahoada East, Akuku-Toru One and Two, Andoni, Asari Toru One and Two, Bonny, Degema, Etche Two, Gokana, Ikwerre, as well as Khana One and Two.
Others are Obio-Akpor One and Two, ONELGA One, Opobo-Nkoro, Port Harcourt Two and Tai State constituencies.
However; the elections for Abua-Odual, Ahoada East Two, Ahoada West, Emohua, Etche, ONELGA Two, Ogu-Bolo, Omuma, Oyigbo, Okrika as well as Port Harcourt One and Three state constituencies were upheld.
Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the State and National Assembly Election Tribunal held that the PDP candidates for Tai and Gokana were not duly elected due to substantial noncompliance with the regulations of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The Tribunals ordered fresh elections to be conducted within ninety days in the state constituencies where elections were cancelled.
