Minimum wage: NLC threatens strike action in Rivers state

The NLC came up with the committee after its State Executive meeting held in Port Harcourt.

 

The committee is chaired by TEMPLE MOFOT, who said the labour unions in the state are ready to commence a state-wide strike if the state government does not accede to their demand.

 

 

He disclosed that NLC would officially issue an ultimatum on Monday.

 

 

On their parts, the State Chairmen of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, PROMISE SUNDAY and the Chairman of the Non Academic Staff Union of Educational and Tertiary Institutions AZUBUIKE NKAZIOBI said their members did not receive the minimum wage for the month of January.
