The Diobu Mile Three residents are complaining about epileptic power supply to the neighbourhood and highhandedness by corrupt officials, adding that they can no longer pay for darkness.
The position was championed by a representative of the aggrieved residents, MONDAY NWAPI, during a meeting with PHED officials led by EMEKA NGWOKE.
The residents around National, Ekwe, Udoka, Wobo and Elechi streets, all within Diobu Mile Three, also complained about arbitrary billing, failure to read metres, grossly inadequate electricity supply, power diversion and compromised officials.
MONDAY NWAPI said they would maintain their ground until PHED management decides to do the right thing, which includes deployment of pre-paid metres, as directed by the National Electricity Regulatory Commission.
