Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the demonstration was mobilized under the banner of Citizens for Good Governance and Lawyers in Defence of Democracy.
The protesters waved placards with various inscriptions denouncing the arrest on the seven suspected corrupt judges, including two Supreme Court Justices.
They stressed the need for equality before the law, but contended that the rule of law and due process must be followed in the enforcement of laws.
It is also the opinion of the protesters that the judges who were arrested had granted bail to accused persons charged with offences that provide be bail.
They equally rejected any attempt by the Executive to intimidate and the Judiciary.
