The accused, BRAIDE CHINEDU, a federal civil servant now facing two counts charge of assault and malicious damage of property allegedly attacked his neighbour, ADELOWU OGUNDALE with a machete, when he saw OGUNDALE harvesting the plantain at their Federal Housing Estate residence, in AMADI AMA, Port Harcourt.
CHINEDU was also accused of damaging plantain trees belonging to his former neighbour, Madam IBITAYO ELIZABETH.
On his part, the victim OGUNDALE, told the court that the accused has relocated from the said residence, only to come back to attack him, while he was harvesting the plantain meant for the present residents.
Meanwhile the trial Chief Magistrate B.M.F JAMABO granted him bail at the tune of Four Hundred Thousand naira, with one surety and two passport photographs.
The matter has been adjourned till October 23, 2016 for hearing.
