Major General YUSHA’U MAHMOOD ABUBAKAR has been appointed as the new Commander of anti-insurgency operations in the north-east region code-named Operation Lafiya Dole.

Major General YUSHA’U MAHMOOD ABUBAKAR has been appointed as the new Commander of anti-insurgency operations in the north-east region code-named Operation Lafiya Dole. Until his appointment Major General ABUBAKAR was the Commander of the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps. The appointment which takes immediate effect was confirmed in a post on the website of the Nigerian Army.
The statement noted that the new commander is to oversee the successful conclusion of the fight against terrorism and insurgency within the established timeline of three months as directed by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.
