Major Gen Okon Udoh heads newly created Army Division six.

The area of responsibility of the newly created Six Division covers Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa and Delta states.

A statement released by the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel AMINU ILIYASU, disclosed that Major-General UDOH was born in Port Harcourt where he is returning as a seasoned and professional infantry officer.

It further disclosed that the newly appointed GOC started his carrier at the Nigerian Military School in Zaria in 1978 from where he proceeded to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna in 1984 as a member of the 35th Regular Combatant Course.

He was later commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 20th December 1986, as has since served in various Units, Formations and Military Institutions, including the 21 Mechanized Battalion Minna, Depot Nigerian Army Zaria, Headquarters Guards Brigade Abuja, and Army Headquarters Department of Administration.

Other postings of Major-General UDOH are 2 Battalion Port Harcourt, Headquarters Infantry Corps Center Jaji, Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji and the National Defence College Abuja.

He had also led Operation LAFIYA DOLE in Maiduguri, Borno State to recaptured Ashigashiya, Chibok, Monguno, Marte, Krenuwa, Bita, Chikun Gudu, Cross Kawa and other areas from Boko Haram Terrorists.
