The campaign council was reacting to a leaked clip allegedly involving OBI and the founder of Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo.
In the viral clip, a voice similar to that of OBI could be heard asking the cleric to speak to Christians in the south-west and Kwara to vote for him in the presidential poll, describing the election as a religious war.
But in a statement, Diran Onifade, head of the LP campaign, and Yunusa Tanko, the council’s chief spokesperson, who described the audio as fake, noted that it is aimed at tarnishing OBI’S image.
Meanwhile, Valentine Obienyem, Obi’s media aide, said the leaked audio of his principal’s conversation with Oyedepo was edited out of context.
In the same vein; the founder of Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo says he has never campaigned for any politician or spoken to any group on their behalf.
Oyedepo said this during a service at the church headquarters in the Ota area of Ogun State amid an unverified and unconfirmed viral audio of an alleged phone conversation between him and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
He said politicians from different political parties in the country came to him for prayers and advice before the general elections.
