At the centre of the prevailing frosty relations between labour and the government is the alleged anti-workers stance of the State Head of Service RUFUS GODWIN.
The Joint Public Negotiating Council in Rivers State is accusing REFUS GODWIN of taking civil servants.
The council had accused the state government of not consulting the labour before embarking on the Biometric Verification exercise.
The Chairman of the council, CHUKWU EMECHETA has also criticised the Head of Service for not officially informing the Labour Union of the outcome of the biometric exercise.
EMECHETA said labour was not aware of the criteria adopted by the state government in the declaration of over seven thousand ghost workers at the end of the exercise.
EMECHETA, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, told our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA that some workers have been issued quit notices from official residence.
