President Buhari said Kyari was a loyal friend and compatriot for 42 years who later became his Chief-of-Staff.
According to the President, Kyari was in his twenties when they first met, describing him as a diligent student, who had the privilege to study abroad.
He said Kyari never sought elective office for himself but rather set himself against the view and conduct of two generations of Nigeria’s political establishment who saw corruption as an entitlement and its practice a byproduct of possessing political office.
The President added that Kyari was a workaholic who worked seven days each and every week.
He concluded that Mallam Abba Kyari was the very best of them, as he was made of the stuff that makes Nigeria great.
