This was confirmed in a statement by the Nigeria Medical Association, Rivers State in a statement by its Secretary, Doctor Hope Avundaa.
The NMA thanked those involved in securing Doctor Stephen’s release including security agencies.
It is however not clear if a ransom was paid for the release of the doctor.
