The Batch-A Youth Corper simply identified as HELEN, was kidnapped last Friday at Omode-Ogba Corpers’ Lodge.
HELEN told newsmen that she was tortured by her abductors before the security intervention that led to her release.
Reacting to the development; State Publicity Secretary of PDP, SAMUEL NWONOSIKE commended the security agencies for the rescue of the NYSC member.
NWONOSIKE, who is the immediate-past Caretaker Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government council, also confirmed that no ransom was paid to the kidnappers.
He said the kidnappers engaged security operatives in a shootout leading to the rescue of the female corper.
SAMUEL NWONOSIKE also alleged that a certain youth from Omokiri-Aluu who has been terrorizing inhabitants of the community is being investigated by the police.
