The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has cautioned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against presenting former President Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate in the 2027 presidential election.
Keyamo also warned that the opposition could face “serious consequences” if it relies on former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, as its flagbearer.
According to him, the PDP remains in a “non-enviable position” following its decision not to zone the 2023 presidential ticket to the South, a move he said eroded the party’s support base in the South-South and South-East regions.
Keyamo argued that the fallout of the 2023 elections has left the PDP weakened, adding that its inability to manage zoning arrangements may further hurt its chances in 2027.
