Kenya Election: Members Of Independent Electoral And Boundary Commission Resign

This is because one of the senior members of the Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission has resigned a week to the rescheduled poll.
ROSELYN AKOMBE said the electoral body was under political siege, and has been unable to reach consensus or take any decisions.
AKOMBO has already moved to the United States, where she told the BBC she feared for her safety while in Kenya after receiving numerous threats.
This comes after the leader of the main opposition coalition, RAILA ODINGA, announced his withdrawal from the presidential run-off taking place on 26th October.
You will recall that Kenya’s Supreme Court annulled the result of the original poll on 8th August, which saw current President UHURU KENYATTA declared winner.
In a majority ruling, the Supreme Court said there were irregularities and illegalities in the conduct of the election in August.
