The newly elected National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Turaki, formally assumed office on Tuesday at the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
Turaki arrived alongside Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State. In his remarks, he thanked PDP leaders for their “resilience” and “courage” in resisting attempts to destabilize the party.
His assumption of office follows a standoff at the party’s Wadata Secretariat in Abuja, underscoring the tense political environment surrounding the leadership transition.
