Damasak is situated on the boundary between Nigeria and Niger Republic in northern Borno.
The spokesperson for the Multinational Joint Task Force, Colonel MUHAMMAD DOLE, confirmed the development in a statement to the media.
Colonel DOLE who is the Chief Military Public Information Officer said the feat was recorded in continuation of clearance operation of towns and villages by the troops of Sector Four in Diffa, Niger Republic.
He said troops of “Operation Lafiya Dole” are also conducting operation to link up with Sector Four at the captured location.
