JONATHAN said experience has shown that proceeds of derivation paid directly to government of the producing states have been better managed than funds channeled through intervention agencies.
Underscoring infrastructure development in Akwa Ibom and other Niger Delta States, JONATHAN noted that projects embarked upon by interventionist agencies are often abandoned.
The former President blamed the trend on the nature of the programmes and appointment of managers of such agencies, which are made based on political considerations.
