It has been revealed that the 2016 Budget of the Federal Government is expected to be passed by the National Assembly in the third week of this month.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Budget, ABDULMUMIN JIBRIN, gave the hint in an interview with newsmen.JIBRIN said the Budget Committee of the House and that of the Senate expect to submit their reports before the two chambers in plenary on 16th of March, with the expectation that the Appropriation Bill for 2016 would be passed a day after.President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has before the end of last year presented a record budget of over six trillion naira before the National Assembly.However; upon closer scrutiny, the federal lawmakers discovered several inconsistencies in the financial estimates, and preliminary investigations revealed that the figures had been padded by yet-to-be named officials.
