Islamic State Rocket attack near American troops based in Iraq contained mustard agent.

The attack on Tuesday occurred on the Qayyarah air base near the Islamic State stronghold of Mosul but no one was hurt.

The Chairman of US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Marine General JOSEPH DUNFORD revealed before the US Senate Armed Services Committee that the rocket had contained a sulphur-mustard blister agent.

General DUNFORD said the group’s capability to deliver chemical weapons was rudimentary, but of grave concern.

It may interest you to note that mustard agent in sufficient quantities can maim or kill by damaging skin, eyes and airways.
