You will recall that the accused persons were arrested during the aborted demonstration in Port Harcourt on 20th January, in solidarity with the inauguration of President DONALD TRUMP of the United States.
They were subsequently arraigned in court and remanded in prison custody on the order of Chief Magistrate SOKARI ANDREW-JAJA
However; the defence lawyer IFEANYI EJIOFOR has told our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA that he now suspects foul-play.
EJIOFOR’s worry is because the presiding magistrate was not in court today when the case was meant to come up again, and he said no reason was given.
The lawyer also berated the Rivers State Police Command for failing to offer medical services to his injured clients in police custody.
