The Governor who spoke on a live television programme recalled that the Security Council in Rivers State had come up with a proposal to form the Neighbourhood Watch which included retired security officers but that it wa thwarted by the former Chief of Army staff Turkur Buratai.
The governor however said it was important for states to take control of security and politics in their states while reiterating his call for community policing.
