Inhabitants of Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State did not know peace last night, as suspected cultists invaded the community and unleashed mayhem on the people.Sources from within the community confirmed to our correspondent on telephone that at least three people were feared dead by the time the invaders retreated.Several buildings were also set on fire by the gang members who stormed Isiokpo in military camouflage, shooting at random, without sparing anything moving object sight. There are insinuations that the invasion could be a reprisal for the recent abduction and murder of one EBUBEDIKE WABALI, whose body was recovered from a bush. Our source said since the killing of WABALI, the community has been under siege by cultists, with recurring indiscriminate shooting at night. The violence last night has confined many inhabitants of Isiokpo indoor, while others have fled the community to join their family members and friends elsewhere.Elders and leaders of the community are now holding consultations to review what has happened to the community and restore calm.
