Here in Rivers State, Governor NYESOM WIKE has received mixed reviews from some residents on his performance in his first one hundred days in office. Correspondent FELIX OJOGWU was on the streets of Port Harcourt where some respondents said Governor WIKE has done well especially in prompt payment of salaries of civil servants. Other respondents commended the governor’s efforts in the area of roads reconstruction despite what they described as the financial challenges facing the state.
However, other respondents claimed that Governor WIKE had not initiated any new project, but was completing old projects started by the immediate-past administration.
Similarly; the factional leader of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Rivers State, WILLIAMS ADAH has praised the current administration in the state headed by Governor NYESOM WIKE, particularly in the area of workers welfare. Speaking in an interview with correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA, ADAH said between the the time Governor WIKE assumed office on May 29, he has cleared the backlog of salaries owed workers by the previous administration. On his part a Public affairs analyst, BORVE PAAGO questioned the concept of One hundred days in office, adding that it was not applicable in governance. BORVE PAAGO said the principle of One hundred days in office should rather be used as blueprint for development.
